Assemblages
Caldwell has been creating multi-media assemblages throughout her career. Those shown here are all three-dimensional wall pieces. Some are abstract pieces that combine paper collages with overlays of rippling cloth (Fugue, Revery, Frieze); others include fully sculpted figures in painted and modeled environments that have symbolic resonance (Troglodytes, Conscience, Affinities). Most recently, Caldwell has been creating assemblages using palm fronds and palm fibers along with sculpted figures (Leap, You're in Good Hands, Survivors).
